Will Elon or Trump apologize first?

This market will resolve to "Elon" if an apology is issued to Donald Trump by Elon Musk by August 31, 2025, 11:59 PM ET prior to Trump issuing an apology to Elon Musk. This market will resolve to "Trump" if an apology is issued to Elon Musk by Donald Trump by August 31, 2025, 11:59 PM ET prior to Elon Musk issuing an apology to Donald Trump. If Elon Musk and Donald trump issue a join statement constituting a mutual apology, or if no qualifying apology is issued by August 31, 2025, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to 50-50. An apology consists of any of the following: - An explicit statement using the words “apologize,” “sorry,” “regret,” “I was wrong,” or similar expressions of remorse directed at the specified individual - A public statement acknowledging fault or error in their statements or actions toward the specified individual - A retraction of previous negative statements coupled with an expression of regret or wrongdoing The following will not qualify: - Conditional apologies (e.g., “I'm sorry if…” “I would be sorry if…”) - Apologies to third parties or the public without specifically apologizing to the other party - Sarcastic or clearly insincere statements The primary resolution source for this market will be official statements from Donald Trump and Elon Musk. However, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
