Will China confirm trade negotiations have begun by next Friday?

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the government of the People’s Republic of China publicly confirms that trade negotiations with the United States have begun by May 2, 2025, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. Only official announcements will qualify. Unverified or anonymous claims will not qualify. Statements must clearly indicate that negotiations have begun or are actively ongoing, not merely that China is open to talks, willing to negotiate, or discussing preconditions. The resolution source will be official information from the People’s Republic of China.
